The rule concerning the trousers height |
 |
|
This drawing shows that shooting trousers may reach only 5 cm higher than the hip bone at the side(crest of hip bone). However, the waistband may have a width of 7 cm.
Normally it is possible to men to push the trousers a little deeper in the waist as it is also shown in the drawing. Thus the trousers with a 7cm wide waistband are not higher than 5 cm above the hip bone.
Anatomically conditioned, it looks usually different there to women, because they have a stronger curvature from the waist to the hip. Therefore the trousers cannot be deeper pushed, but only with the waistband to the crest of the hip bone. With it a 7-cm-wide waistband would sit approx. 2 cm too high on the body.
mouche makes big effort to follow all rules and, therefore, makes the difference that man's trousers have a 7-cm-wide waistband, ladies' trousers, however, only one 5-cm-wide. Therefore the female shooters should have no problems during the equipment control.

If rules and measuring instruments contradict |
 |
|
However, unfortunately, it has happened repeatedly with clothing controls that with female shooters the waistband was complained, although, nevertheless, this was specially adapted to the rules.
Besides, it comes here to a collision of control attention and measuring instrument.

The photos on top point a measuring with a hand measuring instrument. It is measured a lenghtwise cutted wasitband at which one can well recognise the seams at the upper and lower edge.
The left photo shows a7 cm wide wasitband. The measuring records of the thickness measuring instrument fit between the seams and the device indicates the actual thickness of the wasitband. The right photo shows a 5 cm wide waistband. Here the measuring records of the device lie on the seams and show a wrong result.

Reaction of the referees |
 |
|
How do the referees react to this conflict?
mouche has drawn the attention of the technical committee already years ago to this fact of the matter and has sent these photos to the illustration. There also came a reaction. A member of the technical committee assured us that the diameter of the measuring plats would be adapted.
This has not happened till today. But although the referees know the problem, shooting trousers of female shooters are rejected over and over again because of supposedly to thick waistband with the control. This happens for many years regularly with the IWK in Munich.
Comment of a referee: "They can pull the trousers deeper."
